Physical Therapist (PT)

Job Summary: The Physical Therapist will carry out an individualized program of physical therapy including assessment, treatment, planning, implementation, education, and communication to maximize a patient's progress toward achieving functional goals. ThePhysical Therapist will work with patients who suffer from back and neck injuries, fractures, neurological disorders, surgery recovery, joint replacements, work or sports-related injuries, and other conditions to improve their movement and manage their pain. The Physical Therapist will use a variety of techniques to help patients, including hands-on therapy, strengthening and stretching exercises, electrical stimulation, ultrasound, ice/heat, and many more treatment methods. The Physical Therapist will also maintain a positive working relationship with other health professionals and ancillary staff.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Provides direct patient care, reviews patients' medical histories, evaluates functional needs and outcomes, and consults with other specialists
Diagnoses patients by observing their movements and listening to their concerns
Designs and implements a plan of care for patients based on a thorough assessment of potential development and maintenance.
Develops individualized treatment plans for patients
Outlines clear goals for patients and the expected outcomes of the plan
Uses exercises, stretching, equipment, and hands-on therapy to manage patients' pain, increase mobility, and prevent further pain and injury
Records patients' progress and modifies the plan of care if needed
Reviews patients' functional needs and adjusts care plans to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Documents evaluations, treatment goals, and plans and updates accordingly
Educates patients and family members about the recovery process
Works collaboratively with professionals from many other disciplines
Conducts therapy practice within defined standards of care
Directs the assistance of support staff to achieve patients' functional goals
Communicates effectively with other professional and support staff to achieve positive patient outcomes
Administers prevocational programs to prepare patients to return to or enter a work or school setting
Practices company and departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality improvement programs, safety, environmental, and infection control standards
Enhances professional growth and development of self and others through participation in educational programs, in-service meetings, and workshops while keeping up to date on professional literature
Provides direction and leadership to staff and acts as a resource to promote physical therapy in the community

Required Skills/Abilities :
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Knowledge and skills to care for the physical and developmental needs of the population age groups that will be receiving services
Ability to remain calm in emergency or crisis situations

Qualifications / Education/Experience:
Master's degree of Physical Therapy (minimum)
Current license from the state Board of Physical Therapy Examiners
Active state license in Physical Therapy

Physical Requirements:
Duties require extensive standing and walking
Requires lifting, positioning, pushing, and/or transferring patients
Duties require frequent reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $38.00 - $44.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36 - 40 per week
