Process Improvement Engineer

Job description

Job Description: Develop systems to improve existing products or operations. Work with different teams to collect data and analyze current operating procedures to determine which improvement technique is best. Train employees on new manufacturing practices, while considering safety and quality.

Supervisory Responsibility: None

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Determine best option for improving the process while considering safety and quality
2. Train employees on newly improved process
3. Check output from newly implemented processes to verify they re sustainable
4. Build prototypes to support the improvements in the process change such as workstations and supporting carts/racking
5. Create Standard Work for the improved process
6. Analyze current production data
7. Implement 5S standards (identify and label standard locations)

Professional License/Specialized Training: Six Sigma preferred

Experience: + 1 to 3 years

Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Skills/Competencies: Ability to work with others while understanding each point of view and lead improvement activity; Analytical skills; Problem solving skills; Data analysis; Flexibility with continuous change in direction and refocus on a new task

Equipment/Programs: Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, InAccord, Made2Manage (M2M), Forklift, man lift, industrial power lifts, and small hand tools
