Job description

Position Summary:
The Quality Specialist position is a salary position reporting to the Quality Supervisor. They are part of the QMS and Business Systems team. The Quality Specialist will be an integral part of the Business Systems verification by performing audits as defined in the audit program to ensure quality and compliance. The Quality Specialist will work with the Quality Supervisor to prepare scheduling, preparation, document retrieval, reporting, and communication with audit personnel throughout the business.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Perform internal audits and reports as these will include but not limited to Process, Product, and QMS
  • Use audit checklists to conduct the audits, record evidence and determine compliance
  • Work with QMS Manager to create, improve and maintain the Quality Management business system and process documentation
  • Responsible for assigned Business Processes including documentation, records, metrics (Key Performance Indicators) and day to day activities for QMS compliance and effectiveness
  • Generate data and metrics related to the health of assigned business process, evaluate trends using appropriate data analytics
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure effectiveness of process and make continuous improvements
  • Define and complete necessary actions for negative trends in metrics
  • Define non-conformances and report non-conformances with evidence per the audit procedure
  • Complete audit checklists and reporting daily per the audit procedure
  • Verify corrective actions for non-conformances as requested
  • Ability to learn SPE Cell and Module process and requirements
  • Ability to learn and conduct Control Plan Audits
  • Perform verification audit of standard operating procedure (lab or operations)
  • Administrative tasks and or additional activities to complete plant start up or improvements as directed by the Quality Supervisor

Basic:

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Associate Degree or equivalent relevant job experience
  • Advanced organizational, written, and oral communication skills
  • Advanced interpersonal skills and ability to interface with various level of employees.
  • Attention to detail in performing job
  • Advanced power point, word and excel skills
  • Basic Math and Problem solving skills
  • Ability to learn new software
  • Ability to follow and adhere to all health and safety rules, including the use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independent
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States
  • Successfully pass a background, drug check
  • While travel is unlikely, the ideal candidate will be able to travel, with reasonable prior notice as required (domestic and/or international)
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, or holidays as required

Preferred:

  • Bachelor Degree from an accredited university
  • Experience with AIAG core tools (APQP, Control Plans, FMEA, PPAP, MSA and SPC)
  • Experience in continuous improvement systems and lean manufacturing
  • Experience in creating and maintaining Quality System Business processes and/or Quality Management System Documentation
  • IATF 16949 Quality System Auditor Certification or Auditor training in other Quality Systems
  • Experience leading and completing Quality Management System audits
  • Experience with the AIAG Advanced Quality Planning and Control Plans, FMEA, Production Part Approval Process, MSA, and SPC (Statistical Process Control)
  • Skilled in using Data Analytics using MS Excel, Spotfire, Tableau, Power BI or similar applications
  • Automotive manufacturing experience

Working Conditions:

  • Ability to sit, walk and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to work around the potential exposure to dust and chemicals
  • Ability to wear appropriate PPE as deemed essential for the job function
  • Ability to lift up to 51 pounds
  • To safely perform the essential functions of the position you must be able to distinguish colors
  • May be exposed to cleanroom environment, dust, solvents, mixing, noise, high temperatures, low humidity, air-conditioned environment, CT Scan, X-Ray, and high-security
