Job description

Position Summary:

The Qualification & Training Specialist is responsible for administrating the Operator Qualification Program, as well as, coordinating, implementing, and documenting employee training for various regulatory programs (OQ, Emergency Response, HAZMAT, Control Room, Integrity Management, etc.).


Primary Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to the following):

Serve as Operator Qualification Program Administrator (50%)

Conduct annual review of the Operator Qualification Program.

Conduct internal audits of qualified employees and evaluators.

Serve as a qualified evaluator and conduct OQ evaluations.

Ensure contractors meet all the requirements of the Operator Qualification Rule and company operating procedures.

Review, update, and develop evaluation criteria commensurate with company policies and procedures.

Responsible for and oversee internal employees and contractors' qualification records.

Track and measure the effectiveness of the Operator Qualification Program


Serve as Training Specialist (30%)

Coordinate training programs by working with department representatives and external vendors to schedule and provide quality training classes ensuring company needs and regulatory requirements are met.

Collaborate with employees, leadership, and various subject matter experts to identify training needs.

Evaluate the effectiveness of current training programs.

Assist with the development and implementation of training programs including curriculums, lesson plans, training materials, and testing standards to improve employee performance and development.

Ensure company and contract employees have been trained to perform assigned tasks properly and safely.

Develop and integrate training in a Learning Management System.


Secondary Duties (20%)

Participate in audits from state and federal regulatory agencies.

Track and maintain a list of approved equipment, including calibration records.

Track and maintain management of change requests.

Assist with updating company policies and procedures.

Assist with conducting emergency response drills.

Assist with Root Cause Analysis investigation.



Job Qualifications (refers to job, not incumbent):

3-5 years in the energy industry along with Pipeline experience is highly desirable. A degree in engineering or a related field is preferred.


Other:

Strong presentation skills; excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Analytical ability as well as experience interfacing effectively with vendors, contractors, and company employees.

Good organizational skills with flexibility to manage multiple projects and to prioritize assignments.

Ability to perform job duties with minimal supervision.

Ability to interact with employees at all levels within the company.

Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications.

Experience working with a Learning Management System

Ability to operate effectively in a team environment and must be willing to maintain and advance skills.
