Job description
Responsible for accounting and clerical duties related to the efficient maintenance of processing of accounts payable transactions.
Duties Include:
Completes payments and controls expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices
Reconciles processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances
Charges expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice/expense reports; recording entries
Pays vendors by monitoring discount opportunities, verifying federal id numbers, scheduling and preparing checks, and resolving purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation
Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues
Ensures credit is received for outstanding memos
Maintains accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions
Maintains historical records by filing documents
Continuing to improve the payment process
Post Invoices from vendors
Match Invoices to statements
Maintain checkbook in Excel
Maintain required records such as W-9's
Scan Invoices into our Document Management System
Flexible schedule and work from home after training
Perform other duties as assigned
Accounts Payable Specialist Requirements:
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required
2-3 years of accounts payable experience required
Knowledge of general accounting procedures
Proficient in Microsoft Suite, particularly Excel
Able to multi-task and prioritize work effectively
