Job description

We are looking for a skilled CNC Machinist. In this role you will play a crucial role in the equipment manufacturing processes by setting up and operating computer numerical control (CNC) (Okuma) machines to produce precision components. Your responsibilities will include interpreting technical drawings, programming CNC machines (Okuma Controls), selecting and installing appropriate tooling, and ensuring the quality and accuracy of the finished products.


Job Responsibilities


Machine Setup and Operation:

Prepare and set up CNC machines based on job specifications.

Fixturing Setups

Tool Setups

Touch Offs

Program CNC machines using CAM software or manual input.

Monitor machine operations to ensure proper functioning and adjust settings as necessary.


Tool Selection and Maintenance:

Choose appropriate cutting tools and install them in the machine.

Conduct regular maintenance on tools to ensure optimal performance.

Replace dull or worn tools as needed to maintain precision and quality.


Quality Control:

Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.

Make adjustments to the machine and tooling as required to maintain accuracy.

Identify and troubleshoot issues that may affect the quality of the product.


Reading and Interpreting Blueprints:

Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to understand machining requirements.

Translate design specifications into machine instructions and programming.


Safety Compliance:

Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe working environment.

Follow proper procedures for handling materials, tools, and equipment.


Documentation:

Maintain accurate records of machine settings, tool changes, and production runs.

Document any issues or deviations from the standard process.


Collaboration:

Communicate effectively with team members, engineers, and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow.

Collaborate with colleagues to troubleshoot and solve machining problems.


Continuous Improvement:

Stay updated on industry trends, advancements, and new technologies.

Provide input for process improvements to enhance efficiency and quality.



Education and skill requirement


High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical education or certification is a plus.

Proven experience as a CNC Machinist or in a similar role.

Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.

Knowledge of programming languages such as G-code and CAM software.

Strong attention to detail and precision.

Ability to operate and troubleshoot CNC machines.

Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Knowledge of safety protocols and practices.



Compensation details: 26-28 Hourly Wage
