Job description
The Financial Analyst reports to the Plant Controller and is responsible for month-end accounting activities, improving financial processes, systems and reporting to drive down cost.
This position supports the Burlington FP&A process by managing the plant's SG&A spend for the monthly actuals, annual budget, and quarterly forecasts processes.
Prepare and provide analysis of monthly budget variances, working closely with department owners on variance explanation and plans to ensure metric alignment.
Assist Plant Controller in the preparation of forecast, budget, variance and actual results reporting.
Responsible for certain aspects of month-end closing process, which may include, but not limited to, preparing and recording journal entries, reconciling balance sheet accounts, investigation of issues and recommending appropriate adjustments, variance analysis and analysis of financial information in SAP.
Supports the Plant Controller and the Cost Deployment pillar with recommendations to improve cost control, focusing on key drivers of the business through World Class Manufacturing (Lean) principles. Works with operations to identify projects and validate project activities and savings.
Monitors plants earned vs actual hours and reports financial impact.
Ad hoc analysis, projects, and other duties as assigned.
