Job description

Cutting Tool Sales - Des Moines, Iowa

As an outside sales representative, you will apply your extensive knowledge of CNC machining and cutting tools to provide our customers with the best solutions for their manufacturing needs. You will work closely with customers to understand their unique requirements and then offer tailored recommendations for cutting tools that will help them increase productivity and reduce costs. We are looking for an experienced Sales Engineer with a minimum of 3 years of experience in machining and cutting tool sales and applications.

Responsibilities

  • Call on new and existing accounts in Des Moines and the surrounding area to sell cutting tools, tool holders, and related accessories
  • Assist customers by providing technical expertise and product information and offering solutions and recommendations
  • Write and follow up on quotes and close sales
  • Other miscellaneous duties and responsibilities as required by the position

Requirements

  • 3+ years of machinist, machine shop experience
  • Related technical degree desirable - CNC Machining, Industrial Machinist, etc.
  • Sales experience helpful but not required
  • Ability to ask questions, uncover needs, and offer tooling solutions and alternatives
  • Excellent time management and follow-up skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Proficient PC/computer skills
  • Salaried position transitioning to commission
  • Valid driver's license. Clean driving record
