Strategy & Planning Consultant

What You'll Do: As a Strategy & Planning Consultant, you will partner with the Strategy & Innovation Director to develop, implement, and execute on projects within the Strategy & Innovation Team, including but not limited to:

  • Facilitate, plan, and coordinate analysis of strategic and business initiatives that may include business unit projects that touch multiple areas of the company to ensure all impacted areas are appropriately involved in the project.
  • Provide advice/consultation on strategic and business initiatives by analyzing information to summarize and identify key insights and cross-functional business considerations.
  • Identify and assess implications of broader considerations such as those impacting agents, operational efficiencies, and best practices on business unit projects.
  • Build and maintain an open line of communication by providing timely status reports, developing communication plans, and communicating project results to the program sponsor(s). Provide progress updates to Management Team and other leadership groups through development of executive management and Board level presentations.
  • Review and update strategic initiative business plans, deliverables and recommendations for completeness ensuring high-level business purpose, benefits, impacts, and risks are appropriate and adequate.
  • Perform research and analysis on a wide range of topics and business functions to deliver projects emerging from the office of the Chief Executive Officer and other Management Team members.
  • Identify process improvements where needed, working across departments to streamline in processes where appropriate.
  • Foster and build relationships and teamwork across the company with business and IT to promote open communication, collaboration, and connection to strategy and associated initiatives.

No two days are the same, so it's important to be adaptable and flexible as you will have other duties as assigned.

What It Takes to Join Our Team:

  • College degree or equivalent plus 5 years of relevant experience required, including business/strategic planning experience - facilitating development, presenting, gaining approval and tracking results. Project or program related experience preferred.
  • Very strong analytical, organizational, strategic thinking, problem solving and documentation skills.
  • Knowledge of organizational process improvement methods preferred.
  • Must have a thorough understanding of the Insurance business in order to quickly understand, with limited information, the business implications of business needs and issues that may impact successful planning and delivery of strategic and business initiatives.
  • Ability to influence and impact at all levels of the organization, including senior management.
  • Must possess planning, decision facilitation and decision making, oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be results oriented and able to adapt and deal with ambiguous situations and manage expectations
  • Some travel is required, including overnight stays.
  • Ability to write, speak and read the English language.
  • Reasonably regular and predictable attendance.
