JOB TITLE: ENGINEERING MANAGER ( IT - Business Intelligence)
JOB DESCR:
As an Engineering Manager, you will provide critical input into major product technology decisions and ensure development standards are adhered to by the team. You will also manage the staffing strategy to ensure delivery teams have the right mix right mix of technical capabilities for the product. In addition, you will:
Be a servant leader for two scrum teams, ensuring alignment of efforts to the customer experience and business outcomes
Collaborate closely with Product Owner, to understand the vision, strategy, and road map for your area of responsibility, providing necessary technical perspective and insights
Collaborate closely with Architects on technology selection and solution design
Foster Agile culture among teams, with focus on outcomes and product quality
Provide team motivation, recognition, and constructive performance feedback
Develop engineering talent with challenging roles and growth opportunities
Address technical impediments for your teams
Maintain collaborative relationships between all product stakeholders
Understand broader implications of decisions, balancing technical and financial impacts
Manage IT operating budget for supported products
Required Skills, Experiences and Competencies
Extensive technical knowledge and background across a wide breadth of software development technologies, including Java, APIs, AWS, React/Redux, HTML & CSS, Data Structures & XML, Web Application Architecture and System Integration
Proven experience in technical leadership, including understanding of architecture to evaluate designs and implementation
Proven experience with Agile development process, methodology, and scaling
Working knowledge of Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery practices
Working knowledge of test-driven development practices and automation
Proven experience identifying excellent Engineering Talent
Proven experience providing constructive performance feedback
Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills with emphasis on persuasive communication, tact, and negotiation
Team-oriented, passionate about developing others' skills and capabilities
5+ years applied software engineering experience (w/ 3+ years web development)
3+ years leading software engineering teams
