Responsibilities:
We are seeking a Cardiac Care Nurse (Part Time), internally referred to as our Cardiac Care Unit (CCU) Registered Nurse (RN) at Saint John Hospital a member of Prime Healthcare. The Cardiac Nurse plays a critical role in attending to patients with heart conditions, cardiac issues, and associated illnesses, provide tailored care to enhance recovery and enhance quality of life.
Shift's Available: Nights ($4.00 to $6.00 diff in pay)
Employment Type: Part Time (Self-Schedule)
If you have experience as a Registered Nurse in Med/Surg, Telemetry, Critical Care, Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Cardiac Care, or Emergency Department, you are encouraged to apply!
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):
monitor patient's cardiac status, vital signs, and telemetry data to detect any changes or abnormalities, which is crucial for patients needing cardiac drips, insulin drips, unstable drug/alcohol withdraw, heart attacks, or other cardiac conditions
administer medications as prescribed by physicians, including intravenous drugs, cardiac medications, and pain management medications
perform assessments of patient's cardiac status, including physical assessments, review medical histories, and evaluate symptoms
provide education to patients and their families about cardiac conditions, treatment plans, medications, lifestyle modifications, and self-care practices
react promptly to cardiac emergencies, including arrhythmias, cardiac arrests, or respiratory distress, necessitating immediate implementation of emergency procedures, administration of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and aiding in defibrillation and other crucial life-saving measures
Qualifications:
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
current and valid state RN License
current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current
completion of Critical Care Course preferred
Basic Arrythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire
current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current
minimum of one year as a staff RN in acute care hospital, critical care preferred
Critical Care RN (CCRN) Certification preferred
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
