Job description

Overview

Maintain purchasing records in Excel including organizing and preparing incoming receipts and compare with the JD Edwards system. Responsible for preparing all non-inventory and inventory purchase orders for production. Conduct JDE purchasing and maintain inventory levels to support production needs. Do weekly and monthly cycle counts and research any discrepancies. Schedule all inbound deliveries for plant and DC using Blujay. Order finished products from internal suppliers needed to supply Salina customers. Schedule batteries to ship to sister plants. Back up scheduler for the production schedulers.

Starting Pay Rate: $21.52

1st Shift (Monday - Friday 8:00am-5:00pm)


Responsibilities

  • Perform daily clerical duties of maintaining records, matching up paperwork, and preparing purchase orders, invoices, receipts, and packing slips for keypunching.
  • Taking accurate cycle counts on various levels of frequency.
  • Track incoming open purchase orders currently in transit communicating with schedulers if delivery dates cause issues or working with the supplier to ship earlier or adjust transit.
  • Cross-departmental collaboration and support with local business partners.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, Email, JDE, and MRP.
  • Interact with and assist with scheduling personnel to ensure the inventory aligns with customer changes.
  • Communicate with internal and external contacts.
  • Handle problems with suppliers to maintain production requirements.
  • Work with the Receiving department to maintain related records and assure prompt and accurate invoice handling.
  • Work with sister plant to ensure supply of all needed products.
  • Comply with current Quality Systems requirements.
  • Hazardous waste training shall be provided to the employee within six months of the date the employee filled this position, and a review of this training is provided every 12 months thereafter. The employee will complete a program of classroom instruction. The employee shall be supervised until training is completed. The training shall consist of a review of the proper management of hazardous waste, satellite accumulation containers, how to review and prepare a hazardous waste manifest, and proper labeling requirements.
  • Perform other work as assigned by Management including 5S cleaning.


Qualifications

Education, Experience, Skills Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Excellent computer skills - specifically including Excel spreadsheets (spreadsheet creation, formulas, and analysis)

Equipment Used:

  • General office equipment, PC w/various software including Microsoft Office and JDE.
  • Personal protective equipment as required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Sitting, standing, bending, twisting, reaching above head, and walking as necessary.
  • Occasionally climbing ladders, stepping up on stools, lifting boxes from above the head, and stepping off ladder/stool.
  • Occasional lifting to 50 pounds.
