Overview
Quality Inspector performs a wide variety of inspection duties on battery production, components, and incoming materials. Reports all defects and coordinates findings with appropriate personnel. Require the ability and knowledge to audit all manufacturing departments.
Starting Pay: $22.58
Schedule:
- B Shift: Sun-Tues, every other Wed; 5:10 pm to 5:42 am
- 1st Shift (6:00am - 2:30pm)

Responsibilities
- Conduct inspection throughout entire manufacturing process to assure compliance with written specifications
- Assure setups and adjustments on various equipment is proper prior to use.
- Report discrepancies.
- Prepare daily reports and issue hold tags as required.
- Conduct simple laboratory tests.
- Comply with current quality systems requirements.
- Must cross train as quality auditor.
- Must cross train in laboratory.
- Must become competent in cross trained job
- Demonstrate leadership ability to junior inspectors/technicians.
- Must work to reduce costs, scrap, and rework
- Work without direct supervision.
- Assist and advise mfg. personnel to assure zero quality escapes.
- Ability to work safely and manage PbB level.
- Hazardous waste training shall be provided to the employee within six months of the date the employee filled this position and a review of this training provided every 12 months thereafter. The employee will complete a program of classroom instruction. The employee shall be supervised until training is completed. The training shall consist of a review of proper management of hazardous waste, satellite accumulation containers, how to review and prepare a hazardous waste manifest, and proper labeling requirements.
Qualifications
Physical Requirements:
- Capable of climbing ladders and stairs
- Must be able to wear respirator
- Will be exposed to extreme environmental conditions (hot, cold, humid)
- Occasionally lifting from grams up to 50 pounds
Equipment Used:
- Various testing equipment and measuring instruments, computer, safety equipment as required.
Education, Experience, Skills Required:
- Desired, associate degree in chemistry or engineering or minimum 2 years experience in auditing or relevant experience.
- Communication skills to verbally instruct and interact with employees and supervisors.
- Computer skills to enter data and create reports.
- Manufacturing experience a plus
