What you will do

The Demand Planner position is responsible for creating and maintaining the consensus demand plan at multiple levels of aggregation for the Residential HVAC business, using statistical models, and leveraging insights from Product Management, Sales, Marketing, Operations and Finance teams.

The Demand Planner is accountable for input into the Demand portion of the monthly S&OP process. This involves compiling global forecast and gaining formal business alignment to the Demand Plan. The plan is then passed to the supply team for long term inventory and capacity planning. The Demand Planner also works with the Supply Planner to ensure decisions are carried out in a timely and effective manner.

How you will do it

  • Review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, develop statistical forecast models, and evaluate forecast results

  • Interact with sales, marketing, and finance to develop a consensus and forecast event drivers across categories and customers in order to align to and support financial targets (AOP)

  • Utilize both top down / bottoms up forecasting strategies to align cross-functional planning across the business unit

  • Documents and retains history of demand planning assumptions in order to hold cross functional teams accountable for decisions made and resulting impacts

  • Use and maintain forecast models within Logility Demand Optimization module

  • Understand how environmental factors, market dynamics, competitors and internal programs or overrides generate the need to adjust the statistical forecast

  • Maintain metrics/scorecards on KPI's, including forecast accuracy, forecast bias, etc

  • Track demand consumption and utilizes insights to improve forward looking forecasts

  • Drive root cause analysis to understand demand plan error in prior periods and implement continuous improvement initiatives

Other responsibilities:

  • Work with PMO and PLM in developing analysis/timeline/for demand forecast phase-in for new product launches, and phase-out for EOL products, execute in the demand forecast, and monitor/react regularly due to changes in the program schedule and other launch assumptions

  • Define and incorporate new process and best practices as the business needs evolve

What we look for

  • University degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. 6 Years suggested minimum experience.

  • BS in Supply Chain Management, Mathematics / Statistics, or other related field preferred, + 6-8 years of supply chain/S&OP experience, including at least 4 years of direct demand planning experience

  • Extremely comfortable with manipulating data in excel, strong analytical skills, and ability to apply basic statistical concepts

  • Ability to recognize trends within data and translate that back into a demand plan narrative

  • HVAC Industry experience preferred

  • Has a mindset of continuous improvement and always looks for more optimal and efficient ways to execute and improve on workload

  • Must have oral and written communication skills for presentations to all levels of customer and management.

  • Ability to lead through influence and communicate across diverse group of stakeholders

  • Experience with end-to-end supply chain planning tools and forecasting systems (ERP (SAP/Oracle), Planning Tools (Logility preferred, Kinaxis, etc)
