For more information about DAWSON, please visit Hourly Salary Range: $48,000 to $54,000 Job Summary: DAWSON is currently looking for an entry to mid-level, environmental scientist / inspector to join our Stormwater Compliance Program that supports Fort Campbell, Kentucky. This full-time time position will report on-site Monday through Friday at Fort Campbell. The ability to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC) is required. A stormwater inspector is a professional responsible for inspecting various stormwater management facilities, including construction sites, industrial facilities, and municipal infrastructure. The primary responsibility of a stormwater inspector is to collect information that helps to ensure that facilities comply with federal, state, and local regulations related to proper water runoff, pollution control, and stormwater management. The position will primarily be responsible for inspecting stormwater control measures to ensure compliance under the Clean Water Act, as well as compliance with erosion control best management practices, (BMPs), stormwater control measures (SCMs), regulations and applicable environmental regulations and permits. Collaborate closely with DAWSON environmental team members and Government Program Managers to execute important assignments to support Fort Campbell's Clean Water Act Programs. 5. Conduct regular inspections of a variety of outdoor and indoor sites to identify possible deficiencies related to stormwater controls. Note this position requires work outdoors, at times on uneven terrain. 6. Document inspection findings using provided forms and procedures. 7. Maintain lists and databases of inspections and findings. 8 Prepare and submit digital reports based on inspection findings. 9. Collect water quality samples from surface waters and outfalls for laboratory analyses, in accordance with federal regulations. 10. As part of the MS4 Program assist with community outreach programs and engage with stakeholders to foster positive relationships and support environmental initiatives. 11. Assist with other, related, environmental compliance program work as directed. Qualifications: 1. Preferably a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Biology, or equivalent experience in the environmental field. 2. Ideally should have a minimum of 1-3 years' environmental assessment, stormwater inspection, or erosion control experience. 3. Should already have, or be willing to obtain at company expense, an Erosion and Sediment Control Level I Certification for Tennessee or Kentucky. 4. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat. 5. Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with co-workers, various stakeholders and the public. 6. Capable of working independently and collaboratively within a team-oriented environment. 7. Certification in stormwater management or a related field would be advantageous to the role. 8.
