Overview:

The Utility Worker incumbent will consolidate various waste from vessel and wastewater treatment and disposes of it in accordance with HES regulations. They will perform testing on cleaning dock hoses, light product barge hoses, asphalt and heavy oil hoses, and vessel fuel hoses annually. The incumbent will be responsible for damaged hose disposal and responsible for any associated paperwork. The Utility Worker incumbent will perform minor preventative maintenance on equipment associated with HVAC, pump, heat exchanger, and boiler systems for Marine structures, such as the Annex, MRF, Shower House, and other buildings.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Consolidates various waste from vessel and wastewater treatment and disposes of it in accordance with HES regulations.

2. Performs testing on cleaning dock hoses, light product barge hoses, asphalt and heavy oil hoses, and vessel fuel hoses annually. Responsible for damaged hose disposal. Responsible for paperwork associated.

3. Performs minor preventative maintenance on equipment associated with HVAC, pump, heat exchanger, and boiler systems for Marine structures, such as the Annex, MRF, Shower House, and other buildings. Examples include but are not limited to changing air filters, fixing leaks, and assisting Facility Operators in their tasks.

4. Performs seasonal property maintenance, such as striping parking lots, snow removal, weed removal, and sea wall cleaning due to flooding alongside contract workers when applicable.

5. Provides general labor support and assistance to craft employees. Examples include, but are not limited to, steadying materials, checking supply levels, performing hull watch, fire watch, and painting.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/ GED required.

• Travel - 10%. Valid driver license is required.
