Job description
Duties Provides advice, assistance, on-the-job training, and instruction to users on the operation and field level maintenance of AMLC medical systems and equipment and in the resolution of maintenance and supply problems Investigates trends in maintenance problems and the causes for unusual 'down time'. Reviews documented log events over a period of time and the solutions used to repair equipment to identify causes of failure Ensures depot personnel are aware of their retention value as Army assets or expedite transfer, disposal, or repairs actions. Requirements Conditions of Employment One-year probationary period may be required. Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. Secret security clearance required. This position require that the incumbent periodically travel TDY up to 50% of the time. If required, the employee will receive a series of anthrax vaccine immunizations to include annual boosters. The employee is responsible for ensuring no medical, dental, vision, or other health-related restrictions could prevent a deployment The employee must meet current physical and functional requirements IAW AMC 700-19 and the most current MOD to USCENTCOM Individual Protection and Individual A valid driver's license is required to obtain a military and /or international driver's license when participating in field exercises, deployments, or assigned to a foreign duty station. The employee may be required to draw and wear protective clothing (current uniform required for wear by DA Civilians specific to operation or as directed by the Command) This position is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) subject to a pre-employment drug screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident. The employee is required to sign the most current mobility agreement, AMC Form 2884-R, IAW AMC-R 700-19. This position requires you to submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450) upon entry, and annually thereafter. The employee may be on-call, work irregular hours, accompany the assigned unit during technical and training field exercises, and deploy to contingency areas to support the command's medical devices systems and equipment and sets Single parents or families, where both parents are EE, are required to prepare and present their supervisor an approved family care plan The employee will be required to live under field conditions similar to field-grade officers, in tents consuming field rations such as Meals Ready to Eat (MRE). The employee may be required to deploy to, and remain in, hostile zones during crisis situations or mobilization, which may require flying in military aircraft. This is an EMERGENCY ESSENTIAL (E-E) and Mobility Program position subject to deployment. This position is considered Emergency Essential (EE) in support of the Department of Army's mission during periods of increasing tension, mobilization, and war. This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for Life Cycle Logistics Certification within 36 months of entrance on duty. Specialized Experience is defined as; One year of specialized experience at the GS-11 grade level or equivalent pay band level in the Federal Service performing the following duties; 1. Maintaining functional knowledge of operations and maintenance on various Army medical equipment ; 2. Assisting others in both operation and field level maintenance for Army medical equipment; AND 3. Resolving medical equipment/ systematic logistical problems. Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify.
