Job description

Duties Oversee the implementation of command acquisition regulations Provide mission partners with clear correspondence relating to acquisition Coordinate staff on acquisition actions based on financial and statistical data Provide guidance on acquisition actions for long-term and short-term projects Requirements Conditions of Employment Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. Must be able to maintain and hold a Secret security clearance. Incumbent is required to pass medical screening for TDY travel within USCENTCOM Area of Responsibility and must adhere to DoD required immunizations and medications specific to countries visited. During TDY assignments incumbent is required to work extended daily workhours, and a 7-day work week as well as to live under 'austere' field conditions. This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for Foundational Career Level Certification or Contracting Professional Certification within 48 months of entrance on duty. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Assist in the development of appropriate acquisition strategies for procurement and contract goals; 2) Communicate orally and in writing with customer during the contract lifecycle to ensure compliance with procurement policies and regulations; 3) Utilize market research to provide recommendations for adoption/modification of contracts; AND 4) Analyze contract documentation for accuracy. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Business or Finance. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
