Job description

Duties Provides personal, confidential, and advisory services and assistance. Provides sound, mature advice, and recommendations to the DCS G1/G4 on the credible orchestration of events and activities. Serves as personal advisor, assistant and consultant to the DCS G1/G4 and G1/G4 leadership staff on executive and general administrative matters. Maintains calendar for the DCS G1/G4, exercising control over meeting appointments, working schedules, and speaking engagements, with designated authority for commitments of time. Prepares correspondence from knowledge of the DCS G1/G4 viewpoint, customary policies, methods, phraseology in answering inquiries, invitations, etc. Requirements Conditions of Employment Require employees to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance as required. Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period. Problem Solving Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience above in order to qualify. For this job, you may qualify if your education meets the definition(s) below: 1) Education alone: Education may be substituted for specialized experience with a Ph.D. (or equivalent graduate degree), 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, or LL.M (if related). 2) Combination of education and specialized experience: A combination of education and specialized experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of graduate education in excess of 2 years by 18.
