Job description

The AmeriCorps VISTA position within the University of Kentucky s (UK) Center for Service-Learning and Civic Engagement & the Cornerstone Innovation Space supports the newly established Cornerstone Innovation Space for students, faculty, and staff. Responsibilities may include:

• Continuing to establish and build a Lexington-area community organizations network


• Work directly with the embedded community organization at the Cornerstone Innovation Space


• Creating and maintaining a community asset and needs data map


• Staffing a helpdesk for nonprofits and community organizations


• Establish connections between community organizations, students of UK, faculty of UK, and staff of UK


• Support innovative programming of the embedded community organization at the Cornerstone Innovation Space


• Implement innovative, collaborative, program with campus and community organizations using the Cornerstone Innovation Space


• Serve as a liaison for student organizations, academic units, or other university parties looking to plan and execute events at the Cornerstone Innovation Space


• Create Cornerstone Innovation Space usage procedures


• Create and implement marketing strategies for the facilities and programs


• Other duties as assigned

The AmeriCorps VISTA member will serve as a full member of UK s Student Success Division, which includes staff retreats and professional development meetings. We also work to connect our AmeriCorps VISTA member to the local Lexington network of AmeriCorps VISTAs as well as the local Lexington nonprofit community for additional trainings and professional development opportunities.
