Zeon has an exciting Project Engineer career opportunity in our Louisville, KY plant.

Job Description:

Responsible for the planning, procurement, execution and completion of small to large scale projects. Supervises project field installation and startups to ensure established safety rules and procedures are followed, projects are completed on time and within approved project cost. Other responsibilities include:

• Designs, implements, and communicates an operational plan for completing projects including project schedules, budgets, and forecasts. Documents plan, assembles appropriation request, and obtains organizational project approvals
• Prepares engineering designs and work specifications
• Develops RFP packages with appropriate selection criteria and metrics
• Ensures safe implementation of project construction by enforcing the established safety rules and procedures
• Oversees contractor activities to insure they comply with established company standards.
• Monitors progress and performance against the project plan. Takes action to resolve operational problems and minimize delays
• Reviews industry policies and procedures to ensure data accuracy, security, regulatory compliance, and incorporates Recognized And Generally Accepted Good Engineering Practices (RAGAGEP) into designs
• Collaborates with other engineers and technical personnel and coordinates their specialized contributions to the development of the project
• Identifies, evaluates, monitors, and reports project risk according to company risk assessment policy
• Collaborates with other engineers and technical personnel to support plant operations including trouble-shooting, root cause analysis, developing future strategies/opportunities, and data collection.

Job Requirements:

A successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering.
• A minimum of 5 years' relevant experience in manufacturing preferably in a PSM plant.
• A minimum of 3 years' experience in project management.
• A safety mindset applied to self, colleagues, and contractors.
• Excellent communication/organization/time management skills.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings/diagrams (PIDs, PFDs, loop sheets, equipment drawings, etc).
• Proficiency in SAP is preferred.
• Project Management Certification is desirable.
• Six Sigma training/certification is desirable.
