Job description
Duties As a SECURITY SPECIALIST (UNIT DEPLOYMENT MANAGER)-TITLE 32, GS-0080-9, you will direct, obtain, maintain, and provide for proper usage of Security Forces equipment in order to meet unit objectives. Track operational and performance data on tools and equipment. Direct repair and calibration of tools and equipment. Maintain liaison with other agencies to ensure proper acquisition, use, and maintenance of major equipment items. Implement DoD, USAF, and MAJCOM policies and plans. Coordinate and monitor equipment requirements. Ensure personnel are trained on security equipment. Receive requests for security equipment, determine need and justification, review appropriate directives and other source material, obtain ordering information and authorization, and prepare any required forms. Manage SF equipment accounts. Monitor source allowances, validate requests, and process documentation to procure equipment. Monitor, control, and manage tools, equipment, and materials order status files. Close material cost data for work orders and job orders. Conduct research for complex and unusual supplies parts and transactions. Perform trend analysis of utilization of supplies to determine future requirements. Provide financial accounting data to the Resource Advisor. Manage and direct programs in support of SF deployment requirements. Serve as a representative at conferences, working groups, and meetings dealing with deployment, equipment, and reviews. Coordinate movement of equipment and material by all modes of transportation. Operate and manage SF storage facilities. Perform vehicle control responsibilities. Manage and coordinate vehicle maintenance and assignment program. Provide munitions forecasting data for SF requirements. Perform and enforce SF duties within the military installation. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Military Grades: SrA(E4)-MSgt(E7) RANK REQUIREMENT: Member must provide in writing with their application package that they are willing to accept a reduction in rank in order to be qualified for this position, if applicable. Compatible Military Assignments: AFSC: 3P0 Area 3B applicants must meet the military qualifications and rank requirement when assessed as a member of the Kentucky Air National Guard. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: You must maintain membership in the Kentucky National Guard. You must be assigned to a compatible military position. Wear of the military uniform. May be subject to furlough actions. May be required to successfully complete a trial period. Participation in direct deposit is mandatory. Must obtain a favorable adjudication of a T3 or equivalent investigation. Acceptance of a Federal position may terminate a military bonus. Acceptance of a Federal position will terminate Tricare Reserve Select (TRS) eligibility. Qualifications MINIMUM REQUIREMENT: Must have successful completion of the Air Force Technical Training AFSC/Security Forces School for AFSC: 3P0 (must be a minimum skill level of 5). Must have experience in a wide range of security concepts, principles, and practices to review, analyze, and resolve difficult and complex security problems. Ability to develop guidance for applying security policy, procedures, techniques, equipment, and methods. Experience in information, personnel, and physical security to effectively implement, integrate and administer applicable security programs and/or coordinate with other specialized security programs. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 24 months experience directing, obtaining, maintaining, or providing for proper usage of Security Forces equipment. Experience tracking operational and performance data on tools and equipment. Experience performing liaison duties with other federal agencies to ensure proper acquisition, use, and maintenance of major equipment items. Experience developing plans for efficient use of physical security equipment. Experience reviewing and analyzing equipment utilization and failure rates, repair and replacement costs, and technological advancements. Experience preparing briefings and analyzing reports on resources and equipment statuses. Experience preparing and maintaining equipment requisitions, transaction documents and work orders. Ability to manage and direct programs in support of Security Forces deployment requirements. Experience determining currency of shelf life deployable items. Experience compiling readiness status reports for leadership. Experience coordinating the movement of equipment and material by various transportation modes. Experience handling equipment to ensure proper storage, labels, and disposal procedures. Experience performing and enforcing Security Forces duties.
