QUALITY ASSURANCE AUDITOR


  • Auditing the plants/suppliers/copackers/warehouse for compliance to both Corporate Quality Management System policies and procedures, and the plant specific SOPs, programs.
  • Schedule and prepare for audits, conduct audits, prepare and issue reports and monitor follow up CAPA.
  • Responsible for all aspects of audit preparation and execution for all audits conducted at the plant/copackers/warehouse including GFSI, customer and corporate company audits.
  • Ensure compliance with all corporate QA Policies and procedures and all customer specific program and document requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with USDA/FDA regulations. Manage audit preparation and lead audits.
  • Audit Food Safety, Quality & HACCP programs for compliance.
  • Coordinate daily/weekly/monthly facility audits on a pre-determined schedule.
  • Identify gaps and coordinate corrective action initiatives for findings and non-conformances.
  • Responsible for assuring compliance with all Food Safety policies, procedures and regulatory criterion including the current SQF code, Good Manufacturing Practices, and the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) and associated Preventive Controls.
  • Responsible for performing/assigning processing floor centric audits, maintaining records of results and analysis of results for reports.
  • Assist in handling customer food safety related complaints.

Requirements


  • 3-5 years' experience in the food industry in a FSQA capacity
  • 1-3 years of supervision in a FSQA capacity preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in food science, Chemistry, or equivalent.
  • HACCP and PCQI trained and demonstrated mastery of GFSI auditing requirements
  • Previous experience working in a RTE (ready to eat) and processing plant environment.
  • Must have supervisory and training skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required
  • Knowledge of USDA/FDA regulations
  • Competency in Microsoft Office, and other software as applicable
  • Excellent communications skills. Bilingual in Spanish/English is desirable
  • Able to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Must have the ability to travel 50% of the time.
