Job description

Duties Leads three or more employees in accomplishing trades and labor work. Ensures material and tools are available. Determines workers have enough work and are fully utilized. Answers questions regarding procedures, policies, written instructions, and other directions. Updates supervisors on status and progress of work. Requirements Conditions of Employment This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance. This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter. This is a Testing Designated Position (TDP)/Drug Testing position. This position requires the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License. This position is subject to the provisions of the Domestic Violence Offender Gun Ban commonly referred to as the Lautenberg Amendment. This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time. This position requires the incumbent participates in Chemical Accident/ Incident Response and Assistant (CAIRA) situations and serve on teams dedicated to controlling CAIRA situations after being trained for particular duty. This position requires the incumbent to be cleared IAW requirements of AR 190-11, Physical Security of Arms, Ammunition and explosives. This position requires the incumbent to obtain a Forklift Operator License. This position requires to lift up to 70 lbs. in the regular performance of duties. Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Packer Leader (Forklift Operator) without more than normal supervision. Complying with all safety and regulatory requirements relating to preservation and packing. Determining the materials, containers, and devices needed to complete the work. Providing technical guidance to lower-level workers in preserving and packing specialized equipment, including hazardous material packing. I am considered an expert in making in storage checks for damage and reporting findings to the supervisor for action. Selecting, assembling, and completing documentation for issue and shipment, and work with a high degree of independence. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Work Practices (Including Keeping Things Neat, Clean, and in Order) Performs work on hard surfaces and in areas which require standing, stooping, bending, and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Frequently lifts and carries parts, equipment, and packed containers which weigh up to 70 pounds. May occasionally lift heavier items with assistance. Work is generally performed inside in areas that are well lighted, heated, and ventilated. May occasionally work outside or in areas that are drafty and poorly lighted. The work is sometimes dusty, dirty, and greasy. The employee is frequently exposed to the possibility of cuts, scrapes, and bruises. Additional information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required. This is a Logistics Career Field position.
