Description:

Main Purpose:

To perform scaffolding job functions required and assigned in the fabrication of iron as steel structures per contract/job specifications and quality assurance requirements/scaffolding procedures and established ISO-QA/QC program standards.


Essential Duties:

  • Erects and dismantles scaffolding to provide safe work platforms.
  • Fits together steel pipe, support braces, and clamps.
  • Lifts and positions scaffolding, bolts pipe, and places planks.
  • Uses various hand tools.
  • Perform additional duties as directed by the foreman.
  • Performs all duties in a safe manner and in accordance with operating procedures.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements:

Physical Requirements:

  • Standing: This is an essential job function/physical requirement.
  • Walking: This is an essential job function/physical requirement.
  • Turning, twisting, bending, and stooping- These physical requirements are essential job functions.
  • Pushing and Pulling- These physical requirements are essential job functions.
  • Reaching, forward, and overhead are essential job functions /physical requirements.
  • Climbing: This is an essential job function /physical requirement.
  • Balancing, fingering, feeling, talking, hearing, and seeing- These are all considered normal physical duties/requirements and would be needed/required to work in this industrial environment safely and efficiently.
  • Lifting - Between 10 and 25lbs. according to the material used.

Job Requirements:

  • Must be able to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen.
  • Must be able to pass a background check.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • TWIC card

Desirable Experience, Education, and Training:

  • 1+ years experience in offshore scaffold building
  • Highschool diploma or GED.

Tools, Equipment, and Technology:

Scaffold builders must know and have previously worked with pliers, hammers, wrenches, lifting devices, safety equipment (belt, harness, etc.), man lifts, and high reach equipment.
