Job description

Description Job Title: IT Specialist - Customer Support Location: Fort Polk, LA Security Clearance: Secret Technical Support Provide first-line technical support to end-users, diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network issues. Manage service requests, incidents, and problems, ensuring timely and effective resolution. Offer guidance and training to users on the efficient use of IT systems and tools. Network Operations Monitor and maintain network infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance. Troubleshoot network-related issues, including connectivity, latency, and security vulnerabilities. Implement network upgrades, patches, and configurations in line with organizational standards and security protocols. Systems Administration Administer and maintain servers, storage solutions, and virtual environments. Perform system backups, restores, and disaster recovery planning. Ensure that all systems are compliant with DoD policies and guidelines, including regular updates and security patches. Data Administration Manage and maintain databases, ensuring data integrity, availability, and security. Perform data migrations, backups, and recovery operations. Collaborate with other IT teams to optimize data storage and retrieval processes. Qualifications Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. 3-5 years of experience in IT support, network operations, systems administration, or data administration. Previous experience in a classified environment with a focus on DoD IT operations is highly desirable. Technical Skills: Proficiency in diagnosing and resolving technical issues across various platforms, including Windows, Linux, and network environments. Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and other networking protocols. Experience with systems administration tasks, including user management, file permissions, and server maintenance. Familiarity with database management and administration, including SQL, backup, and recovery. Certifications (Preferred): CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+. Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate or equivalent. Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or equivalent. ITIL Foundation or equivalent.
