Job description

The role of the Field Engineer (Electronics) is to provide post-delivery and warranty support services for the United States Coast Guard (USCG) Patrol Boat Acquisition Office (CG-9125) Fast Response Cutter Project Resident Office Lockport Louisiana. Specifically, Engineering Electronic (Electronic) services in post-delivery support of the SENTINEL Class Fast Response Cutter (FRC) patrol boat acquisition. Work Model: Onsite/Office-Based Responsibilities Essential Duties & Job Functions:
Performs the post-delivery support duties as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all command, control, communications, computer, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (C4ISR) equipment on the Coast Guard Fast Response Cutter (FRC) in a new construction post-delivery environment.
Provides detailed knowledge and understanding of all shipboard electronic and power generation systems to identify outstanding system field warranty discrepancies during the multi phases of post-delivery support at multiple domestic and international destinations.
Provide detailed reports, problematic issues and warranty discrepancies; provides mitigation recommendations, and provides information to the contracting officer and post-delivery support coordinator.
Provides familiarization in the form of training, logistical support and advanced trouble shooting to arriving pre-commissioning Coast Guard crewmembers on the full suite of C4ISR systems.
Observes and manages field implementation of applicable Engineering Change Notices (ECN) and Engineering Change Proposals (ECP) by the contractor for delivered FRCs including the retrofitting of FRCs post-delivery.
Attends FRC sea trials post-delivery for underway testing and evaluations.
C4 representative as a member of the FRC delivery team.
Other duties as assigned. Job Requirements Mandatory Must be a US citizen.
Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance.
Two (2) years of experience in new construction of maritime vessels.
Two (2) years afloat experience on maritime/naval vessels.
