Teijin Automotive Technologies Sarepta plant is looking to fill a Quality Inspector on 2nd shift

PURPOSE OF POSITION

Monitor materials, manufacturing process, and inspection process to insure quality customer products are produced. Be a first point of contact for quality issues and cross shift communication.

GENERAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Be able to communicate effectively with other inspectors on all shifts any issues related to quality and or the department.
  • Control and organize rework procedures per direction of Quality Manager or Quality Supervisor.
  • Evaluate parts through check fixtures and visual inspection.
  • Understand how production parts are used to help evaluate pass or fail situation and relay that information to Quality Supervisor.
  • Ensure that parts produced in molding and assembly operations of the company meet the quality requirements of our customers.
  • Monitor and audit process parameters to ensure that jobs are being run to standard settings.
  • To assist operators with corrective actions to resolve conditions which are causing scrap and/or out of control conditions.
  • To communicate the occurrence of defects, out of control conditions and other problems to the Quality Manager/Supervisor and the Manufacturing Department.
  • Responsible for performing inspections of parts (check fixture evaluation, visual inspection to acceptance standards, etc.) as detailed in the inspection instructions on the process sheet.
  • Report Quality problems, processing problems, control chart problems to Quality Supervisor.
  • Responsible for data collection as required.
  • Responsible for recognizing SPC process control signals and common problems associated with the process.
  • Reporting time variance with production schedule needs.
  • Performs incoming inspection, and reviews returned defective material as directed by the Quality Supervisor.
  • Maintain communications with Quality Supervisor, Quality Manager, and Manufacturing Department to produce a team effort.
  • Assist the Quality Supervisor in the preparation of visual aids for the process. Maintain storage and rotation of first piece evaluation parts.
  • Ensure that control plans are being followed.
  • Be available with little or no notice to work overtime in critical situations.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Quality Manager/Supervisor.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Work experience sufficient to enable the individual to be trained to perform the job duties and responsibilities.
  • Attendance to be maintained above average.
  • Good computer skills. (Microsoft Office)
  • Training as required by Quality Manager.
