Job description

Are you an experienced Engineering/Ship Controls system expert with a background in naval operations? Do you thrive in a dynamic and challenging environment? Sayres is seeking a skilled Engineering/Ship Controls Systems Senior Technician, with Secret Clearance, or the ability to obtain a clearance, to join our team in Bath, Maine. This position would ensure the smooth operation and maintenance of cutting-edge DDG 51 Class Surface Combatants and perform on-site technical support/troubleshooting/repairs for Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) systems focusing on Machinery Control System (MCS), Integrated Bridge and Navigation System (IBNS), LM2500 Engine Controllers (EC), Repair Station Consoles (RSC) and Digital Video Surveillance System (DVSS) support for DDG 51 Class Surface Combatants under construction at Bath Iron Works. Possess a working-level technical knowledge of various systems and equipment, including: Machinery Control System (MCS) Integrated Bridge and Navigation System (IBNS)
LM2500 Engine Controllers (EC)
Repair Station Consoles (RSC)
Digital Video Surveillance System (DVSS)
Duties will include: Acting as the ISEAs on-site representative for these systems.
Troubleshooting and repair for these systems to include data extraction for dissemination to ISEAs when required.
Monitoring the installation and care and protection of these systems.
Supporting and monitoring the shipbuilder's stage testing of these systems.
Performing receipt inspections of equipment at the GFE Warehouse.
Provide equipment status and problem reporting, along with recommendations for improving shipboard systems' operation and maintenance. Support all new construction Sea Trials.
Support ISEA team visits to shipyard.
As part of your role, you will be responsible for supporting various Navy documentation efforts, including but not limited to: Provide various reports, including tracking test progress, test observations, operational reports, weekly test reports, equipment status reporting, and comprehensive engineering reports.
Support NSWCPD visitors with the SUPSHIP Bath visitors package and coordinate equipment testing/operation with BIW and SUPSHIPBA.
Provide engineering documentation of programs, equipment tech manuals, and systems drawings to the ship's crew.
Participate in various meetings, tracking resolutions in weekly reports.
Offer technical support to BIW Test and Evaluation team, ship's crew, BIW operators, and SSBA.
Perform any other duties as assigned.
Required and Preferred Experience: Former Navy or Civilian Personnel with experience in DDG 51 class ships preferred. Former Navy ratings preferred are GSE, ET, IC.
Prior Waterfront technician support.
Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain a Secret Clearance required.
