Microwave Techniques is searching for a Senior RF Technician in our Gorham, ME location.

The ideal candidate should be patient, open to challenges, and recognize that RF testing requires both precision and a blend of science and art.


What will you do in this role?

  • Assemble, test and tune a broad range of high-power microwave components.
  • Strong understanding of RF component specifications and ability to independently measure and record final test data.
  • Ensure that work travelers are complete and accurate.
  • Support and facilitate development and implementation of new Engineering Designs.
  • Assist in the development and growth of the product design through technical discussion with engineering team in the design phase, followed by performance feedback and suggestion for improvements as designs are completed.
  • Consult with engineering team on possible design changes or modifications which may enhance product performance.
  • Make recommendations to improve current processes within the department.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

What do you need to be successful?

10 + years of experience in a technical role within an R.F. environment.

Associates degree or higher in Electronics preferred.

A proven track record of assisting in the development and production of custom projects.

Must be a self-starter, highly organized, and able to work well with associates at all levels within the organization.

Experience using manual machines such as lates and/or mills is a plus.

Experience with hand tools and basic inspection equipment.

Needs solid working Knowledge of Electrical Test equipment (VNA).

Needs solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows-based computer applications.

Regularly operated computer, calculator, and telephone requiring hand-eye coordination and finger dexterity.

Routinely communicates face-to-face on telephone and in writing requiring strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Normally standing with freedom of movement on a regular basis and ability to move within a campus setting.

Ability to lift and manipulate R.F. Components (up to 50lbs) and Test Equipment.

Requires strong interpersonal skills.

The shift schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:00am to 2:30. Personal protective equipment (PPE) of safety shoes and glasses are required in the production floor areas.
