Job description

Serving as a Cross-Functional Team/Science and Technology (CFT/S&T) Systems Engineer, the ideal candidate will be leading on system design, architecture and integration for current and future capabilities and providing engineering support, technical guidance and recommendations to Senior Leadership. Acts as the Liaison between C5ISR Center and Space & Terrestrial Communications Directorate (S&TCD), Cross Function Teams (CFT), and O5 Product Managers, assisting in technology transitions within Project Manager Tactical Radio programs (PM TR), PEO C3T. Serving as a liaison between technical working groups within TR SETA's Tactical Radios to assess current technologies and recommend the latest NextGen technologies in support of the Army's Future Forces, the ideal Cross-Functional Team/Science and Technology Systems Engineer will be expected to: Lead on system design, architecture and integration for current and future capabilities for PM TR
Lead architecture vision, design and documentation
Handle high level system architectures and interfaces for PM TR
Lead system integration for Capability Sets (CS) with N-CFT, PM I2S, OCSE and ACMs Create roadmaps for current and future capabilities, including integrated test/assessment/analysis Apply understanding of the Army's C3T tactical network and apply system engineering principles to recommend technical insertions.
Leverage deep understanding of the Army's Systems of Systems Architecture
Represent PM TR at all future capabilities set (CS) meetings, conferences, and technical exchange meetings (TEM) and prepare executive summaries.
Understanding of Army Acquisition and management (including MTA and JCIDS) of program funding.
Plan, manage and recommend emerging technologies, working with vendors to investigate and assess technologies for future adoption and transition to PM TR.
Maintain awareness of current, evolving, and new technologies applicable to C3T systems.
Interface with vendors at technical fairs, tradeshows, technical meetings to brief stakeholders in recommendations.
Develop tech insertion, experiment, and fielding schedule for future capability sets
Manage and develop Network Basis of Issue (NBOI) and network architectures for current and future capability sets
Coordinate with cross functional teams for requirements for multiple programs.
Interface with technical professionals in their respective fields for R&D work as well as in the writing, editing and publication of various types of documents to include test cases, reports and presentations.
Conduct comprehensive assessments of the operational and technical requirements of products being brought in to support the program.
Work pro-actively with Project Leads and team members to resolve project-related findings and the implementation of corrective actions.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems Engineering, Business or equivalent. Four (4) years military service can be substituted/utilized as related experience in lieu of degree
A minimum of ten (10) years' relevant experience
Knowledgeable of Army's PEO C3T tactical networks
Have demonstrated experience using NBOI, MagicDraw, Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF), and U.S Army Table of Organization and Equipment (TOE)
Understand Operational View (OV), Systems View (SV), and Technical Standard View (TV)
Demonstrated DOTMLPF-P experience Strong Science & Technology background very helpful to position
Experience with Army Acquisition (JCIDS and MTAs)
Understands the Systems Engineering Life Cycle (SELC) and the interdependencies between tactical networks and other TR SETA product lines
Strong written and oral communication skills
Data-oriented personality with strong routing/switching experience
Have demonstrated abilities in creating and maintaining roadmaps for future capability sets, including test and integration requirements
Have excellent leadership, verbal and written communication and teamwork skills
Clearance Level: Must be able to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship possessing Secret clearance or higher Travel: up to 25% Desired Qualifications
Experience using Modeling, Emulation, Simulation Tool for Analysis (MoDESTA), Army Traffic Model (ATM), Capability-Set Architecture Visualization Tool (CAVT), and other to more quickly and reliably generate architecture views, perform configuration management validate transport designs against treads and perform other key functions and analysis.
Have experience developing network architecture for modeling and simulation analysis, lab-based and field-based tests and demonstration for Brigade, Division, Army, or Joint level exercises or experiment events
Understand NBOI that is used by multiple program offices and directorates to ensure that they are synchronized and working to the same assumptions and plan.
