Network Administrator
Onsite Annapolis Junction, MD 5 Days a week
Active TS/SCI, FS Poly Clearance Required
(Must have an active or recent FSP Poly completed in the past 7 years) Summary
Our client is an employee and Service-Disabled, Veteran-owned Small Business focused on providing niche technical services. They are a team of experienced cybersecurity professionals with a track record of success in the Federal, Commercial, and Academic workspaces. Additionally, our client designs, builds, operates, and secures scalable cloud and IT infrastructures to meet their customers' near-term needs and fulfill their long-term requirements. Responsibilities
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Network Administrator to support the Intelligence Community by providing technical expertise in network/system administration and engineering. The ideal candidate will have experience with Linux systems, virtualization, network administration, and security protocols. This role requires hands-on involvement in designing, deploying, and maintaining complex network infrastructures and virtual environments to ensure the integrity and security of critical data transmissions.
- Analyze the planning, design, development, and implementation of system and network engineering plans for Intelligence Community customers
- Monitor network facilities to ensure high-quality data transmission
- Provide technical support for customer engagements, including receiving specifications, designing, testing, and responding to service requests
- Debug and test networks, perform needs assessments, analyze technical projects, and support multi-vendor product integration
- Provide engineering and implementation support for networks to ensure proper execution and resolution for system failures or degradations
- Offer project management and documentation as needed
- Participate in and/or facilitate stakeholder meetings, ensuring effective task delegation and collaboration Requirements
- 5+ years of experience with network/system administration and a BA/BS degree in Computer Science OR 8+ years of network administration experience in lieu of a degree
- Strong Linux experience, particularly with maintaining CENTOS, RedHat/RHEL
- Experience deploying and maintaining VMware ESXi hosts and virtual machines
- Experience with containerization technologies like Docker or Podman
- Familiarization with Cisco networking devices, including Firewalls, Switches, and ISRs
- Ability to maintain software development infrastructure in a fast-paced, highly technical environment
- Strong oral and written communication skills Preferred Requirements
- Experience with Cisco Firepower (with Threat Defense) product lines
- Experience maintaining Cisco Firewalls and access lists
- Experience with Nagios deployment and RHEL Satellite server administration
- Experience with Network Appliance (NetApp) storage technologies
- Familiarity with Microsoft Active Directory, Group Policy, Oracle Hardware, and Solaris OS
- Experience with Information Security Best Practices and vulnerability scanning tools like Nessus
- Experience with network cabling infrastructure, Splunk logging, and Jira/Redmine project management applications Education/Certification Requirements
- 5+ years of experience with network/system administration and a BA/BS degree in Computer Science OR 8+ years of network administration experience in lieu of a degree
- A Security+ CE or equivalent IAM Level II qualification certification Clearance Requirements
- Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; an active TS/SCI FSP Poly is required (Must have an active or recent FSP Poly completed in the past 7 years) Other Duties
