Job Description: Build a new large-scale software capability for a federal government national security customer on a high-profile, emerging topic of global importance. Creatively, flexibly and efficiently design the system's integration with existing tools. Understand the various file formats that might be ingested and find technical solutions for ETL. Code and test high quality software in a responsive agile team environment driven by dynamically evolving software requirements Follows software process management and control throughout the coding portion of the software development process Supports documentation, design, and process improvement activities. Leads small tasks in coordination with other technical resources. Job Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related fields. Bachelor's Degree may be substituted for 4 years of experience. Master's Degree may be substituted for 6 years of experience. Ph.D. may be substituted for 7 years of experience. Minimum 8 years of related experience. Demonstrated ability to use sound software engineering principles and practices to ensure that developed code is modifiable, efficient, reliable, understandable, and fault tolerant. Experience and understanding for how to develop and deploy on systems that demand high levels of security. Proven ability to work with both well-defined and ambiguous problems and to analyze, design, and implement solutions autonomously. Experience with one or more of the following: Java, JavaScript, Apache Nifi, MongoDB, RDS for PostgreSQL, Linux, Git, Docker, Angular, D3 or similar front-end language Working and succeeding on teams following Agile methodologies Experience designing, developing or supporting an API capable of servicing a high volume of requests Active TS/SCI clearance Preferred Qualifications: 12 years of experience or more for expanded responsibilities. 16 years of experience or more to take on a Principal Engineer role. Experience building and maintaining a large-scale database or large-scale real-time data flows. Full-stack software development expertise is preferred, with a greater emphasis on back-end development work. Experience developing/deploying solutions using AWS tools and services. Experience with Terraform and Ansible Experience enhancing software to reduce operating time or improve efficiency Salary Range: $168,000 - $238,000 The BlueHalo pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Determination of official compensation or salary relies on several factors including, but not limited to, level of position, job responsibilities, geographic location, scope of relevant work experience, educational background, certifications, contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements, alignment with local internal equity as well as alignment with market data.
