MINIMUM MUST-HAVE REQUIREMENTS
• A Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
• Ten years of experience in development of complex Linux real-time software systems for Navy operational or tactical training applications.
• Ten years of experience in management of a software development team including software design and architecture, requirements analysis, and resource management.
• Five years of experience with tactical software systems supporting surface ship Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) or other Navy systems operations. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
(in addition to the above minimum requirements)
• Five years of experience with Agile methods of software development.
• Five years of technical experience with surface ships AN/SQQ-89 A(V)15 sonar systems.
• Five years of technical experience with integrated common processor sonar for IUSS. DESCRIPTION
DAS is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer/Team Lead to become an integral part of our team conducting innovative software development on projects supporting various Naval Combat Training Systems for our customer at the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock, MD. Projects will entail execution of scientific, engineering and technical services required for the design, development, integration, test, fleet implementation and maintenance of training simulation systems. This position offers the opportunity to hands-on lead a team of software engineers supporting full-stack development on leading edge Navy Combat System Training Systems through all phases of the software development life-cycle conducted via an Agile Kanban software development process. Our technology stack includes Angular, C, boost C++, Java, and Python, and other tools including GitLab, Jira, Gradle and Docker. RESPONSIBILITIES
• Analyze technology/capability gaps; research, develop, and deploy software solutions within our Agile Kanban software development process
• Define sprints and associated deliverables
• Lead development team in design and optimization of code
• Lead integration, test, bug fixes, and other software maintenance activities
• Lead the creation of technical documentation and user guides in support of developed software SALARY NOTES
Salary offered will be commensurate with the candidate's level of experience and breadth of capability. JOB LOCATION
• Remote work is not possible due to the secret nature of these projects.
• Successful candidate will primarily work at our Navy customer site in Carderock, MD
• There may be occasions temporarily work is required at our corporate facility in McLean, VA.
