System Administrator
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Systems Administrator to join our team who has the experience and knowledge to Ensure the smooth functions of IT systems, can monitor for potential issues in a proactive manner, and can support compatibility between systems. They will also govern database operations. This position requires onsite work in College Park, MD and up to 50% travel to King George, VA. Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field or applicable work experience.
- Secret security clearance.
- Six years of experience as a System Administrator, preferably in the government sector.
- Experience with data system security.
- Experience with creating scripts in Python, Perl, or other scripting languages.
- Professional experience and high-level understanding of working with various operating systems and their implications. Desired Certifications:
- Red Hat Certification
- CompTIA Server +
- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator Responsibilities:
- Install and configure software, hardware, and networks.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshooting issues.
- Ensure security of IT infrastructure
- Troubleshoot issues and outages.
- Upgrade systems with new releases and models
- Be proactive about challenges or constraints within the program and manage them accordingly.
- Provide detailed specifications for proposed solutions including materials, manpower and time necessary. As a System Administrator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity, optimization, and availability of infrastructures and systems. Your holistic understanding of both the operational and scope aspects of systems will ensure the success of large-scale government programs.
