Piper Companies is hiring a Technical Recruiter in our Columbia, MD office. We are a growing staffing firm where you will be able to start filling open jobs on day one and earn generous, uncapped commission!

Please note:

  • At this time, we are seeking agency staffers: candidates who have spent at least the past year recruiting for IT positions, specifically at a staffing agency. We are not seeking candidates with corporate/internal/HR experience.
  • This is not a remote position. We are exclusively considering candidates who are already located commuting distance to our office in Columbia, MD, or candidates who are actively relocating to the Baltimore area. This role is on-site 4 days per week, Monday-Thursday.
  • Responsibilities of the Technical Recruiter:

  • Actively source candidates across the full spectrum of IT for our clients' open jobs utilizing Salesforce, LinkedIn Recruiter, Dice, and more.
  • Post jobs through our Applicant Tracking System (ATS), review applicants, and screen for technical fit.
  • Manage the full recruiting life cycle from initial point of contact to the end of their contract or engagement with us, including submitting to the hiring manager, preparing candidates for interviews, negotiating salary, checking references, assisting with onboarding, and more.
  • Qualifications of the Technical Recruiter:

  • 1+ year of previous recruiting experience for a staffing agency, not a corporate or in-house role
  • Willingness to work on-site in our Columbia, MD office 4 days per week 100% or predominantly remote candidates will not be considered
  • Experience working in a metrics-driven, commission-earning, agency staffing environment
  • Competitiveness and high level of money motivation
  • Ability to demonstrate resiliency and overcome challenges, rather than quit when things get hard
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • Coachability and natural curiosity
  • Compensation & Benefits for the Technical Recruiter:

  • Salary Range: $55,000-$60,000/year, plus
  • Commission: Uncapped (tiered plan; more weekly spread = higher commission percentage)
