Cybersecurity Coordinator /Subject Matter ExpertCrownsville, MD As a Subject Matter Expert/LocalCybersecurity Coordinator, your missionis to enhance cybersecurity resilience across local units of government. Core responsibilities include: Duties/Responsibilities: Assessment and Analysis: Conduct comprehensiveassessments of local networks,cybersecurity architecture, tools, policies, and plans. Identify vulnerabilitiesand gaps in existing securitymeasures. Analyze risk factors and prioritize areas for improvement. Remediation and Enhancement: Collaborate with stakeholders to remediate vulnerabilitiesand strengthen security posture. Draft and refinecybersecurity policies, best practices,and implementation plans. Recommend effectivesecurity solutions tailored toeach local unit of governmentsneeds. Training and Capacity Building: Provide training on cybersecurity topics Foster knowledge sharing and skill development within organizations. Reporting and Risk Assessment: Prepare detailed reports for leadership, highlightingfindings, risks, and recommendedactions including prioritization of recommendations. Translate technicalassessments into actionable insightsfor decision-makers. Advise on strategic paths forward to mitigaterisks effectively. Collaboration and Communication: Establish strong relationships with stakeholders, includinggovernment agencies and organizations. Facilitate communicationbetween technical experts andleadership. Act as abridge, ensuring alignment betweentechnical requirements and organizationalgoals. Education: Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. (Years ofdemonstrated experience will be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree). General Experience: Excellent problem-solvingskills and attention to detail. Experience workingwith and presenting to senior leadership and executives. Strong communicationskills to communicate with a diverse range of stakeholdersand effectively report findings. Ability to travel to jurisdictions within Maryland. Specialized Experience: Proven experience of at least five (5) years as a Cyber SecurityEngineer, Cyber Manager, CyberAnalyst, or similar role in cybersecurity. Knowledge of cybersecurity solutions and other common security technologies. Experience performingsecurity maturity and system assessments in alignment with NIST Standard. Preferred Qualifications: Graduate degree in cyber security or relatedarea of expertise. Preference for candidates with relevant professionalcertifications.
