Gridiron IT is looking for a WordPress Developer. The WordPress Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing scalable WordPress solutions that meet the needs of our clients. This role requires a strong understanding of WordPress architecture, coding skills, and the ability work on a team of developers. The ideal candidate will have a passion for problem-solving, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
Responsibilities
Implement complex WordPress solutions
Collaborate with project managers, designers, and other stakeholders to define and implement project requirements and deliverables.
Develop code and provide mentorship to junior developers and customer content creators
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to WordPress sites.
Stay up-to-date with the latest WordPress trends, tools, and best practices.
Ensure all WordPress solutions adhere to industry standards and best practices.
Develop and maintain documentation for projects and processes.
Communication and collaboration with content developers to advise on solutions and troubleshoot problems.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Proven experience as a WordPress Architect or in a similar development role.
Extensive experience with PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and MySQL.
Strong understanding of WordPress core, themes, and plugins (like Gutenberg).
Experience with RESTful APIs and third-party integrations.
Proficiency with version control systems (e.g., Git).
Knowledge of front-end frameworks and libraries (e.g., React, Vue.js) is a plus.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to work closely with customers and other developers
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with headless WordPress and JAMstack architecture.
Familiarity with cloud services and deployment (e.g., AWS, Azure).
Knowledge of accessibility standards and best practices.
Experience with performance optimization tools and techniques Clearance
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Required to clear for a Public Trust Clearance
Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range $85-145k/yr (Compensation is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, work experience, skills, education, certifications, seniority, and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.)
