Job description

JOB TITLE: DRAFTER III (DFTIII) DEPARTMENT: MECHANICAL ENGINEERING REPORTS TO: SENIOR MECHANICAL ENGINEER CLASSIFICATION: NON-EXEMPT PRIMARY FUNCTION: We're seeking an experienced Drafter to join our Dynamic team. With minimal supervision, create precise mechanical drawings of parts and assemblies following drafting guidelines and local processes. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating mechanical designs and part and assembly drawings in CAD in accordance with established standards (ASME, FAA and/or NAVAIR). DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Prepare layouts and various mechanical drawings including 3D modeling of modifications and/or new design.
Create or modify 3D part models and drawings.
Create or correct and complete assembly models.
Create manufacturing models and .dxf files for the production shop.
Assist junior level drafters with preparing layouts and mechanical drawings, including modifications and/or new design.
Assist with preparation for meetings and briefs (both formal and informal).
Create or correct and complete assembly models
Serve as technical point of contact for project CAD drawing creations.
Capture on site measurements for project installations utilizing hand measurement tools and FARO arm.
Perform other duties as are necessary and/or required.
REQUIREMENTS: Associate degree in mechanical, Aerospace, or related field with minimum 3 years' experience in working industry or HS diploma with CADD training and 5+ years of experience performing the stated responsibilities or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace with 1 year of experience.
Familiarity with Solidworks 3D CAD.
Familiarity with Solidworks PDM.
Surface modeling and Routing knowledge and experience
Experience creating mechanical/manufacturing drawings to established standards (ASME, FAA and/or NAVAIR)
Demonstrated experience interpreting geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
Experience drafting sheet metal and machine parts.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of Sheetmetal work.
Experience in working with DER's for STC/8110 efforts or TAE's for Navy IFC processes pertaining to mechanical/installation drawings.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
Ability to traverse manufacturing facility
