This role plays a crucial part in delivering mission-critical technology solutions to the U.S. Intelligence Community, supporting operations that safeguard our nation's security.

What You'll Do: As a Systems Administrator at Peraton, you will be instrumental in maintaining and optimizing multi-user computer systems that are vital to national intelligence efforts. In this hands-on role, you'll manage system resources, ensure system efficiency, and support high-priority mission objectives. Your key responsibilities include: System Management: Maintain the smooth operation of multi-user systems, coordinating with network engineers and other IT staff to ensure optimal system performance.
Resource Monitoring: Oversee system resources such as CPU and disk usage, monitor response times, and ensure efficient resource allocation across the network.
Systems Security Administration: Handle security administration tasks including the creation of user accounts and system hardening to meet security best practices.
Tier 3 Support: Provide advanced problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution as a Tier 3 support specialist, ensuring quick resolution to complex technical issues.
System Configuration & Optimization: Configure operating systems, install system-wide software, and tune systems for optimal performance.
Backup & Recovery: Coordinate installation of new hardware and software, provide recommendations for system improvements, and ensure robust backup and disaster recovery strategies are in place.
Policy Development: Contribute to the development and monitoring of policies and standards related to the efficient use of computing resources, ensuring the highest levels of operational readiness.
User Interaction & Vendor Management: Interact with end-users to assess needs, evaluate vendor products, and make recommendations for hardware and software purchases.What You Bring: We're looking for a talented and motivated Systems Administrator who thrives in high-stakes environments. Security Focus: Strong background in systems security administration, including user account management, system hardening, and enforcing security best practices.
Problem-Solving Skills: Advanced troubleshooting capabilities to identify, diagnose, and resolve complex technical issues as a Tier 3 support specialist.
Backup & Recovery Expertise: Experience with backup recovery systems and strategies, ensuring system resilience and data integrity.

Qualifications Required Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree relevant to the position and 5+ years of relevant experience. Additional 4 years experience may be considered in lieu of the degree requirement.
Strong understanding of and experience with RHEL Linux and its variants (Oracle Linux, CentOS 6-8)
Strong problem solving, analytical, and technical troubleshooting skills
Solid foundational understanding of IPv4 networking
Familiarity with VMWare environments
TS clearance adjudication and ability to obtain SCI and pass a poly
DoD 8570 Compliant holding current IAT level II baseline certification (Security+ CE, GICSP, SSCP, etc.)
Desired Qualifications: Basic understanding of an Object-Oriented Programming Language, preferably Java or Python
Experience with scripting languages, such as Bash and Python
Experience with Git for Source Control
Experience developing, deploying, monitoring, and troubleshooting Cloud-based software solutions
Experience integrating Jenkins and Docker for automated CI/CD pipelines
Familiarity with IC Audit requirements and Splunk

Target Salary Range $104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
