Job description

Duties The selectee will serve as a Facilities Operations Specialist in the Office of Training, Rowley J. Training Center. Typical work assignments include: Coordinate and manage facilities maintenance issues, repairs and other facility services assigned to the Operations and Maintenance Section. Perform facility surveys to identify necessary maintenance schedules, use patterns, and restoration of buildings, utilities, and grounds. Prepare initial project scopes, descriptions, and justifications for necessary facility modifications and recommendations for modernization, to include new construction, when infrastructure capabilities cannot support valid mission requirements. Identify and modify repair and maintenance approaches dependent upon encountered variables such as aging and failing plumbing, fire, and security systems. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: You qualify for the GS-11 level (starting salary $82,764.00) if you possess one of the following: GS-11: Applicant must possess one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-09 level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors) performing the following duties: Conducting facility surveys to identify maintenance, repairs, or upgrades needs for operational facilities projects; Assisting in the development of maintenance, construction or renovation plans for facilities; Organizing operation schedules for facility maintenance, construction, and renovation projects; and Monitoring service contracts to ensure execution in accordance with contract specifications and quality assurance plans. OR Successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree, or LL.M., if related, from an accredited college or university in engineering, industrial arts, property management, or business administration. (NOTE: You must submit a copy of your college transcripts (official or unofficial) to support your claim) OR Combination of specialized experience (less than one year) and graduate education (beyond 2 years of graduate education), that when combined equals 100% of the qualification requirement. Note: Only graduate education in excess of two years (generally 36 semester hours) may be used in this calculation.
