RESPONSIBILITIES The Electronics Engineer/COMSEC custodian will be experienced with managing a Communications Security (COMSEC) account. They must be familiar with keying material requirements for various U.S. and NATO cryptographic hardware, and understand COMSEC inventory, security, and destruction requirements. The successful candidate is familiar with Two Person Integrity (TPI) and periodic education. The electronic engineer/COMSEC custodian must be familiar with avionics troubleshooting and repair. An understanding of flight test of avionics components is desired. The electronics engineer/COMSEC custodian must be capable of working in a hangar or line environment on naval aircraft to both troubleshoot and repair avionics and to load cryptographic keys. The electronics engineer/COMSEC custodian is required KBR and Navy annual training to include cybersecurity and information assurance training. This position will be located at NAS Patuxent River MD at the HX-21 hangar. The squadron support rotary wing test for at least three different models of aircraft. The successful candidate must be flexible and have the ability to adapt to new information and programs. Anticipated at Monday-Friday. Regular attendance of scheduled hours is critical. Punctuality and regular attendance are necessary to meet deadlines. Must exhibit flexibility of work hours to adjust to surge situations based on critical mission requirements. Travel (including airline travel) is required. Must demonstrate professional behavior at all times when dealing with customers, management and co-workers. Must have clear, concise and accurate communications skills, both verbal and written. Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk to employees or others. Must maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a professional manner. Independent personal transportation to work site is required. BASIC REQUIREMENTS Clearance & Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship required. Must have an active DOD Secret clearance. Education & Years of Experience: High School diploma and a minimum of four (4) years related experience is required. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Must be knowledgeable of COMSEC hardware and software. and mission systems as a foundation for generating content. Preferred background as an operator of unmanned air systems or naval aviator. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience as a keying material manager, security specialist (crypto), or military telecommunications specialist is preferred. Experience in an aviation maintenance workspace is desired. A background supporting NAVAIR aviation programs is desired.

An understanding of flight test of avionics components is desired. Compensation: $81,840-127,710. The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities, and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
