Job description
Summary The MIL Corporation is seeking a Cyber Security Vulnerability Researcher & Forensic Analyst, Advanced (Security Engineering, Senior Analyst) to perform as a member of the Naval Aviation Red Team leading and executing adversarial threat representation against USN Aviation Weapons and Support Systems. The successful candidate will serve at the Patuxent Naval Air Station, MD site. This position currently requires an on-site schedule, with 5 days on-site. Schedule is subject to change based on company/contract requirements. Responsibilities Conduct investigations into cyber events related to information technology (IT) systems, networks, hardware, and software. May conduct research into cyber threats, tools, techniques, and methods. Collect, process, preserve, analyze and present evidence to support vulnerability research, mitigation, test and evaluation. Conduct analysis of log files, evidence, and other information to determine best methods for identifying the perpetrator(s) of a network intrusion. Confirm what is known about an intrusion and discover new information, if possible, after identifying intrusion via dynamic analysis. Provide a technical summary of findings in accordance with established reporting procedures. Examine recovered data for information of relevance to the issue at hand. Perform file signature analysis. Perform file system forensic analysis. Collect and analyze intrusion artifacts (e.g., source code, malware, and system configuration) and use discovered data to enable mitigation of potential cyber defense incidents within the enterprise. Travel 10% - 15% to other sites, as needed Required Qualifications 5+ years of relevant experience DoD 8140 CSWF certification no later than 30 days from performance start (CySA+, PenTest+, CFR, GCFE, or GCFA) Knowledge of computer networking concepts and protocols, and network security methodologies. Knowledge of Risk Management Framework (RMF) process. Knowledge of laws, regulations, policies, and ethics as they relate to cybersecurity and privacy. Knowledge of data carving tools and techniques (e.g., Foremost). Knowledge of reverse engineering concepts. Knowledge of anti-forensics tactics, techniques, and procedures. Ability to conduct forensic analyses in and for both Windows and Unix/Linux environments. Desired Qualifications Additional experience related to performing the above functions in a DoD/Other Government Agency platform/weapons systems or DoD/Other Government Agency IT infrastructure environment. Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP) and/or completion of Red Team Journeyman Course (RTJC). Completion of Joint Cyber Analysis Course (JCAC) Ability to decrypt digital data collections. Skill in developing and using tools (e.g. offensive tools) to test and analyze, network infrastructure and weapon systems. Skill in identifying, modifying, and manipulating applicable system components within Windows, Unix, or Linux (e.g., passwords, user accounts, files). Skill in using virtual machines. (e.g., Microsoft Hyper-V, VMWare vSphere, Citrix XenDesktop/Server, Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud, etc.). Education Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education and/or advanced certification; a Master's degree will be considered in lieu of 2 years of professional experience; a PHD will be considered in lieu of 4 years of professional experience. Clearance All applicants for this position must possess a current Top-Secret clearance with eligibility for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI); please note that the clearance process considers financial background aspects. Salary at MIL is determined based on factors such as qualifications, experience, and contractual limitations. For this position, the projected compensation range is $100,000 - $150,000 per year.
