Job description

Summary The MIL Corporation is currently seeking a Facility Security, Associate to function as the Facility Security Officer (FSO) supporting our offices in Lexington Park, Maryland. The Facility Security, Associate will handle details of a highly confidential and critical nature and must function efficiently and effectively in a professional environment. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to manage multiple tasks and projects with competing priorities and deadlines. The candidate will be fully capable and responsible for managing NISPOM/32 CFR Part 117 requirements, security education, training, and awareness, and helping maintain security awareness and preparedness. The candidate will become the company's designated FSO and one of several key management personnel (KMP)representing The MIL Corporation for all matters related to security. As a liaison between The MIL Corporation and the government, the candidate must ensure that The MIL Corporation's employees understand and comply with government security requirements. The role requires the candidate to be available during regular business hours, and evenings and/or weekends on occasion/as needed to provide support and assistance. This position requires independent judgment and discretion, as well as the identification, analysis and resolution of security-related matters. The successful candidate will provide support for all security functions in accordance with the NISPOM/32 CFR Part 117 to include managing PCLs associated with collateral and SCI programs. The individual will be responsible for visitor control functions. This position currently requires 2 days on-site. Schedule is subject to change based on company/contract requirements. Responsibilities • Partner with and assist other Facility Security Staff with the overall Security program
• Administer Personnel Security Clearance processes to include coordinating initial clearance submissions and periodic re-investigations with employees, providing guidance and instruction to employees to ensure completion of Security paperwork, collection of ink and electronic fingerprinting of initial clearance candidates, and providing follow-up clearance report status on processed clearances to manager for specific contracts. • Execute Security Clearance investigations and performs administrative support functions, including DISS, National Background Investigation Services (NBIS) and Electronic Questionnaires for Investigation processing (e-QIP) administration. • Execute documentation on new employee Security briefings, exit interviews and briefing, investigation and report security violations and incidents.
• Lead preparation for facility reviews and inspections.
• Support document control Security by safeguarding classified documents in accordance with the NISPOM/32 CFR Part 117 and through coordination with government agencies, and other Facility Security Staff.
• Prepare outgoing visit request and certifications.
• Provide administrative and document support, including the maintenance of foreign travel electronic and NATO Spreadsheets along with employee foreign travel paperwork.
• Facilitate new hire paperwork, fingerprinting, swipe access authorizations, clearances, picture ID distribution, badge issuing, courier cards, and all associated on-boarding activities.
• Warehouse and safeguard confidential and sensitive information while also optimizing knowledge sharing processes with key stakeholders.
• Ensure conformance to all applicable organizational guidelines and applicable regulatory standards. Required Qualifications • Result-oriented professional with strong record of success in various aspects of facilities management and Security operations. • Proven leader equipped with advanced interpersonal, oral/written communication, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
• Adept trainer and team facilitator recognized for sound attention to detail. • Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) qualified FSO or 3 years' experience in Security programs as an AFSO, CSSO or in a related field
• Ability to interpret and implement security policy, provide guidance, oversight and assistance to company personnel.
• Strong knowledge of DISS, NISS, NCAIS and e-QIP government programs, SF85, SF86, DD 254, DD 441 and SF328 and National Background Investigation Services (NBIS)
• In-depth knowledge of NISPOM/32 CFR Part 117 requirements, and proficient in MS Office Suite
• Technically proficient in MS Office Suite, SharePoint, Adobe Suite, JADS, JADE, BASICS and DISS. • Willingness to provide and receive feedback.
• Must complete, or have completed required training, including the FSO Program Management for Possessing Facilities Curriculum within 3 months of being hired. Desired Qualifications • The National Background Investigation Services (NBIS) and Defense Information System for Security (DISS) and e-QIP training is desired.
• Defense Security Service Academy FSO Management Certification desired.
• Completed Possessing Facilities Curriculum is a Plus.
• Ensures document control security by safeguarding classified documents in accordance with the NISPOM and through coordination with government agencies, and the FSO.
• Maintain classified holdings and prepare classified transmittals in accordance with NISPOM guidelines and requirements.
• Contractor Personnel Security Officer (CPSO) or Assistant Contractor Personnel Security Officer (ACPSO) for a Special Access Program (SAP). Education Bachelor's degree or a combination of education and equivalent experience, as well as completed applicable DCSA courses Preferred Certifications include any of the following: FSO Program Management for Possessing Facilities and Facility Security Officer (FSO) Role in the NISP Clearance All applicants for this position must possess a Top-Secret clearance with the ability to obtain/ maintain SCI access; please note that the clearance process takes into account financial background aspects. Salary at MIL is determined based on factors such as qualifications, experience, and contractual limitations. For this position, the projected compensation range is $175.00 - $185.00 per hour.
