Job description

Duties As a Supervisory Training Specialist (Security) you will be responsible for the following duties: The incumbent will leverage their subject matter expertise in DoD and National Security policies, DCSA mission area standard operating procedure, and instructional design to oversee the development and delivery of training content including instructor led training, virtual instructor led training, and corresponding performance support tools to ensure the mission readiness of DCSA staff. The incumbent will maintain current awareness of updates and changes to DoD and National Security policies and requirements, DCSA mission area standard operating procedures, and instructional design best practices to conduct content review, oversee the update of instructional materials, analysis and change recommendations, and conduct curricula support. The incumbent will perform project management functions to organize, plan, and coordinate the provisions, schedules, and administrative activities, which are required to conduct education and training programs. The incumbent will oversee resources and operational activities to facilitate instruction and future planning. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have specialized experience sufficient to demonstrate that you have acquired all the competencies necessary to perform at a level equivalent in difficulty, responsibility, and complexity to the next lower grade GS/GG-13 in the Federal service and are prepared to take on greater responsibility. Generally, this would include one year or more of such specialized experience. Specialized experience for this position includes Knowledge of DoD and National level security policies sufficient to evaluate, develop, implement and maintain Security curricula; Ability to manage evaluation of training programs, recommended changes and provided special services, program advice and assistance; Advanced knowledge of project management principles and processes and principles of managing professional on a project team; Good practical working knowledge of instructional materials development and implementation sufficient to create, maintain, and deploy curricula for the assigned security area of focus, to participate in curriculum reviews and evaluations and to adapt curricula to established technology-based platforms, methods and techniques. Specifically you will be evaluated on the following competencies: Training and Education Analysis Technical -Analyze processes/programs and interpret results in assessing training and education requirements. Identify individual and collective training and education capabilities and resourcing gaps, and develop gap mitigation strategies. Education / Training Program Administration Technical - Organize, plan, and coordinate the functions, provisions, schedules, and administrative activities, which are required to conduct education and training programs. Manage the organization, operation, and resources to facilitate instruction and future planning. Instructor Assessment Technical -Observe, assess, and provide feedback to instructors related to the presentation and facilitation of training sessions. Contribute to instructor qualification/certification process to maintain quality of instruction. Learning and Program Evaluation Technical - Assess the learning outcomes, design, and effectiveness of curricula and training programs, using internal and external assessment methods and tools, to ensure quality and degree of implementation, and to inform instructional decisions. Education Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
