Want to join our team?We are currently seeking a dedicated, compassionate Nurse-Leader to join our Team! This position is responsible for providing daily leadership and oversight of all aspects of care for patients assigned to the Rebecca Fortney Inpatient Care Center in Pasadena, MD This position is Full-time with a schedule of 40-hours per week. Some evening and weekend hours may be required.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervises all assigned staff and works along clinical staff as needed to assist in patient care. Oversees clinical supervision of RNs, CNAs, Chaplains, and Social Workers
Closely collaborates with medical services NP/MDs on providing the best patient- and family-centered care. Serves as a liaison to community referring physicians.
Pulls in appropriate census volume to our ICC by working with business development, clinical liaisons, intake/admissions, and 24/7 rapid response teams to identify appropriate admissions and to expedite transfers to the unit. Provides tours to families and others interested in our inpatient care center. Serves as a resource to staff, patients and families, ensuring that patient problems are addressed and resolved in a timely manner.
Conducts appropriate supervisory rounds, allowing time for clinical performance observation for clinical staff. Demonstrates clinical expertise in the execution of nursing process and directs staff in its application to promote safe, effective, and appropriate care.
Oversees and adjusts staff scheduling as needed; prevents overstaffing; utilizes PRN staff effectively.
Collaborates with 24/7 rapid response to provide cross-coverage with a mutually supportive and cross-trained pool of clinical resources. This will allow rapid response staff the knowledge and training to support ICC environment and the ICC resources to provide support via phone, telemedicine, or field visits to support the 24/7 needs of our patients and families.
Ensures that interdisciplinary team meetings are conducted at least every seven days. Coordinates ongoing review, evaluation, and modification of patient care plans.
Supervises, evaluates and mentors staff assigned to ICC, including creating and overseeing a plan of professional development for each staff member to ensure up-to-date credentials and compliance with certification and licensure requirements. Prepares and delivers staff evaluations in a timely manner. Establishes and oversees completion of individual performance improvement plans as necessary.

Supervises the planning, coordination, and delivery of the interdisciplinary team interventions
Provides specialized nursing skills/consultation where required

QUALIFICATIONS
Graduate of an accredited nursing school required; BSN degree or other bachelors degree required.
Minimum 5 years of nursing experience in a medical/surgical or home care setting required previous hospice experience strongly preferred
Minimum two years of supervisory experience required
Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
Demonstrated emotional maturity and ability to cope with and work effectively in stressful circumstances
Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance and other community programs and resources
Demonstrated ability to work effectively on an inter-disciplinary team
Excellent customer service philosophy and skills required
Basic computer skills, to include but not limited to Microsoft Word and Outlook, required
Demonstrated understanding of and concurrence with the hospice philosophy of palliative care
REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to lift or move patients in a safe manner and must be able to lift 50 pounds
Must have a valid drivers license with a good driving record
Compliant with health screening and vaccination requirements of organization and position, including TB screening and Influenza vaccination annually
