Job description

Duties You will support test programs with developing Test and Evaluation data requirements to include their integration into model-based systems engineering tools. You will ensure resources (including personnel skillsets, tools, data environments, etc.) are continuously efficient and effective to support programs as technology advances. You will coordinate with program sponsor/representatives, test team leadership, engineering, and contractor stakeholders to identify detailed or missing data requirements while executing data management plans. You will serve as the primary collaborator between data resource/environment managers, test engineers, Information System Security (ISS) Officer/liaisons, data lab personnel, and stakeholders to ensure data requirements are met. You will manage team workload via task assignments and priorities to effectively support test teams and execution. You will participate in the design and implementation of hardware and software enhancements to real-time and post flight engineering and software teams to ensure data requirements are met for testing. You will use data format identifiers (TMATS, MUX Catalog, TMXIO, ICD) to translate data files and troubleshoot data processing issues. You will provide guidance and advice to ensure that appropriate sample rate, resolution, and range limits are selected when identifying data requirements. Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service. Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing. You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal. This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes. This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time. Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-11/12) grade level or pay band (DS-04) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. 2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. In addition to my experience demonstrating the four competencies above, I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11/12) or pay band (DS-04) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing duties such as: 1) Coordinating with Flight Test Engineers (FTEs) and data resource managers to determine data requirements for tests which include real-time & post-test processing and display requirements for safety of flight, safety of test, and analysis critical measurands; 2) Communicating diverse technical information concerning project requirements among all levels of project participants (management, engineers, aircrew, programmers, range, schedulers, technicians, and system operators); 3) Assisting Flight Test Engineers (FTEs) with designing, developing, managing configuration, validating, and maintaining real-time, inter-maneuver, and post-test displays; 4) Using airborne and ground station data acquisition equipment and principles to validate and troubleshoot telemetry receiving/transmitting which includes Pulse Code and Frequency modulation (PCM) and demodulation, data bus and data bus interface, and time division multiplexing; and 5) Conducting personal, professional and technical development and providing training to others.
