Overview OVERVIEW Tatitlek staff provide support for engineering, technical, operator and logistics services at the Surface/Aviation Interoperability Laboratory (SAIL). SAIL is a part of the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) located at Patuxent River, MD. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Applies engineering principles to investigate, analyze, plan, design, develop, implement, perform manufacturing or installation oversight, test, or evaluate components, software, and systems for use in commercial, industrial, or military applications. Reviews and prepares engineering and technical analysis, reports, change proposals, and other technical documentation. Applies engineering experience to perform functions such as system integration, configuration management, quality assurance testing, or acquisition and resource management. Analyzes, designs, develops, implements, tests, or evaluates software, components, or systems related to engineering or functional requirements of military weapons systems, avionics and aviation systems, and associated support systems. REQUIREMENTS: EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: At least 10 years of experience performing work related to the labor category functional description and a MA/MS degree in a relevant subject or discipline for the position. At least 3 years of the 10 years of experience must be within the last 5 years.
OR Bachelor's Degree in a relevant subject or discipline for the position and has at least 15 years of experience performing work related to the labor category functional description. At least 3 years of the 15 years of experience must be within the last 5 years.
Senior Level Specialized Experience: At least five years of the ten years of experience are related to aviation mission systems, avionics components, military communications systems, or shipboard integration SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES: Excellent analytical skills, Attention to detail, Adaptability, Customer & Mission focused, and Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
"Engineering discipline" knowledge in any of the following specific subjects, disciplines, or areas of work experience only: Aerospace, Computer, Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, Software, Network, Cyber Security, Systems Engineering, or related derivative Engineering degrees.
"Scientific discipline" degree in the fields of Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Mathematics, Data Science, Physics or related derivative degrees.
Must possess a SECRET level DoD clearance.
