Job description

NextGen Federal Systems, LLC (NextGen) is seeking a Senior Program Manager to oversee and manage the successful execution of a research, development, test and evaluation (RDT&E) and training services contract in support of the Joint Simulation Environment (JSE) program for Department of Defense. The Program Manager will ensure that all program requirements are met, deliverables are completed on time, and resources are efficiently utilized. Primary Work Location: Patuxent River, MD Responsibilities: Program Coordination: Coordinate among the program execution team, the Program Management Office (PMO), and key technical stakeholders to ensure program requirements are planned and accounted for in support of system RDT&E and training event needs.
Reporting and Communication: Report to the government Program Manager (PM) and play a critical role in the overall success of the program.
Establish effective communication channels with customers, stakeholders, and suppliers to ensure a clear understanding of program goals and requirements.
Program Management: Manage program schedules, budgets, and resources to ensure the timely and successful delivery of program milestones.
Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with all applicable security policies, AT Level 1 training, OPSEC requirements, and handling of classified information.
Establish critical non-functional requirements and ensure they are met throughout the program lifecycle.
Qualifications: Education: Master's degree in engineering or business from an accredited college or university
Experience: A minimum of 10 years of experience in performing contract management, at least 5 years of which are in program or project management in a technical Department of Defense environment
Proven experience as a Program Manager, with a track record of successfully leading and managing programs, preferably in a defense or government contracting environment.
Security Clearance: Secret/SAR
Skills and Competencies: Demonstrated experience in managing complex programs with multiple stakeholders.
Proficiency in program management methodologies and best practices.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Effective communication and leadership abilities.
Experience with software development and testing methodologies.
Familiarity with program management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, JIRA).
Desired Skills and Experience: 10+ years of experience as a Program Manager on defense acquisition programs.
Experience in working with government or defense contracts.
Experience with DoD flight simulators, pilot training processes, and training scenario development
Knowledge of DoD air-vehicles, sensors systems, weapon systems, communication systems, air- vehicle simulation and training, LVC simulations, aircraft and aircraft system testing, and Modeling & Simulation Verification, Validation, and Accreditation.
Knowledge of system testing and quality assurance methodologies.
Experience in leading and mentoring program teams.
Strong documentation and technical writing skills.
