Adelphi is seeking an Occupational Therapist to provide services to students with disabilities at a School District in Prince Frederick, Maryland.

Requirements:
  • A Maryland licensed in Occupational Therapy.
  • Knowledge of physical disabilities and sensory processing deficits and appropriate therapy strategies.
  • Demonstrated diagnostic skills in the area of fine motor and physical development.
  • Knowledge of and ability to administer fine motor assessments.
  • Knowledge of and ability to administer sensory processing assessments.
  • Ability to write evaluation reports and Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Knowledge of the IEP/IFSP/504 Plan process and an understanding of the content of the required documents.
  • Knowledge of the Medicaid billing process.
  • Knowledge of educational and psychological assessments.
  • Knowledge of disabilities and accommodations/supports to access the general education curriculum.
  • Knowledge of and experience working with students diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Responsibilities:
  • Administers fine motor assessments and sensory processing profiles to students.
  • Writes evaluation reports based on assessment results within given timelines and write evaluation reports.
  • Provides occupational therapy to students as prescribed by a students IEP.
  • Provides consultation services to classroom teachers.
  • Observes students and provide screening information to IEP teams.
  • Attends IEP meetings.
  • Develops IEP/IFSP/504 Plans and writes IEP/IFSP goals and objectives or outcomes within given timelines.
  • Maintains data and provides quarterly progress reports.
  • Completes and submits monthly Medicaid billing forms and therapy documentation.
  • Assist with developing sensory intervention plans for students.
  • Participates in parent conferences and team meetings.
